About the Artist - Emily McIntosh

Artist, Emily McIntosh, uses a unique painting technique to create contemporary equine art.
“Through simple lines and use of white space, I paint horses playing at liberty as well as performing haute ecole. My knowledge of equine biomechanics and dressage allows me to recreate horses accurately in terms of conformation and movement; I then give the paint liberty to fall where it will by pouring paint above the canvas. The freedom I allow the paint, in-turn allows the horses to have (the illusion of) freedom of movement."
